Goya Awards 37th edition – Nominations
Today, Thursday, December 1st, the nominations to the 37th edition of the Goya Awards, often called the Spanish “Oscars”, have been announced. Organized by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences of Spain, they have the purpose of rewarding the best professionals in each of the different specialties of the sector, both technical and creative.
Rodrigo Sorogoyen‘s As bestas and Alberto Rodríguez‘s Modelo 77 are the favorites at the 37th edition of the Goya Awards, with a total of 17 and 16 nominations, respectively, including the main categories. They are followed by Alcarrás, by Carla Simón, and Cinco lobitos, by Alauda Ruiz de Azúa, both with 11 nominations, and Cerdita and Los renglones torcidos de Dios, which are up for six awards each.

Antonio de la Torre and Clara Lago will present the gala to be held on February 11 in Seville, where filmmaker, writer, photographer, cartoonist and stage director Carlos Saura will receive the Honorary Goya. Before that, the traditional meeting of nominees will take place on December 19, 2022 in Madrid.
As we informed you previously, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences of Spain in collaboration with FIMUCS – International Film Music Festival of Seville, will offer a concert dedicated to composers nominated and winner of Goya Awards on Friday January 27, 2023, as the beginning of the events leading up to the Goya Gala 2023.
