Goya Awards 40th edition – Winners
Yesterday, February 28th, the 40th edition of the Goya Awards, often called the Spanish “Oscars”, was celebrated. Organized by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences of Spain, they have the purpose of rewarding the best professionals in each of the different specialties of the sector, both technical and creative.
Actor Luis Tosar and singer, songwriter, and actress Rigoberta Bandini hosted the ceremony at the Auditori Forum CCIB in Barcelona, where filmmaker Gonzalo Suárez was honored with the 2026 Goya of Honor.
Los Domingos, which had received 13 nominations, won five of the top awards: Best Film, Best Director, Best Original Screenplay (Alauda Ruiz de Azúa), Best Leading Actress (Patricia López Arnaiz) and Best Supporting Actress (Nagore Aranburu).
