Hollywood in Vienna 2018 – FIMU Symposium – Hans Zimmer

As we previously informed, the Hollywood in Vienna 2018 festival, which will be held on Thursday 18th and Friday 19th of October 2018, will have composer Hans Zimmer as its main guest, who will receive the Max Steiner Award at the gala on Friday 19th held at the Wiener Konzerthaus in Vienna (Austria) (read more here – all tickets SOLD OUT).

 

Included in the activities of the festival, the “FIMU – Film Music Symposium Vienna” will take place at the University of Music and Performing Arts of Vienna, as a side event of Hollywood in Vienna, on October 21st, 2018.

This year’s focus of the symposium is dedicated to Hans Zimmer, his influence on the film music of our time, and his cooperation with the city of Vienna, where Hans Zimmer himself will give a talk within the evening’s masterclass.

 

The symposium will have as guest speakers the following professionals, among others: singer and composer Lisa Gerrard, violin player Aleksey Igudesman, cello player Tristan Schulze, composer & conductor Johannes Vogel (main conductor of the Synchron Stage Orchestra Vienna) and Bernd Mazagg, audio engineer and Technical Director Synchron Stage Vienna & Vienna Symphonic Library.
