Hollywood in Vienna 2019 – FIMU Symposium – Gabriel Yared & Marc Shaiman
As we previously informed, the Hollywood in Vienna 2019 festival, which will be held on Friday 18th and Saturday 19th of October 2019, will have composer Gabriel Yared as its main guest, who will receive the Max Steiner Award at the gala on Saturday 19th held at the Wiener Konzerthaus in Vienna (Austria) (read more). The festival will also have the presence and participation of composer Marc Shaiman (read more).
Included in the activities of the festival is the “FIMU – Film Music Symposium Vienna” which will take place at the University of Music and Performing Arts of Vienna, as a side event of Hollywood in Vienna, on Wednesday 16th of October, 2019. As a complementary activity, a special Master Class with Gabriel Yared will be held the previous day, on Tuesday, October 15th.
This year’s focus of the symposium is dedicated to Gabriel Yared, and will include the following guest speakers, among others: Marc Shaiman (composer), Ralf Wengenmayr (composer), Adam Lukas (composer at Bleeding Fingers Music), Marius Ruhland (composer), Roman Kariolou (composer), Johannes Vogel (Composer, musician & conductor), Keith Lockhart (conductor & music director for the Boston Pops Orchestra), and Dimitrie Leivici (violinist & concertmaster).
