Hollywood in Vienna, which this year honors the multi-award-winning composer Alan Menken, kicks off its programme of activities this week, beginning on Wednesday 21 and Thursday 22 with the educational activities of FIMU – International Film Music Symposium (read more), followed by the concert on Friday 23 and the Max Steiner Award gala on Saturday 24 (read more).
Alan Menken will be present in Vienna for the educational activities and to receive the prestigious awarded given by the City of Vienna during the gala, but he will not be alone, as he has surrounded himself with an impressive cast of artists, as you can see below:
The official programme of the concert has not been made public yet, but considering these artists, it is more than likely that titles such as “Beauty and the Beast”, “The Little Mermaid”, “Aladdin”, “The Hunchback of Notre Dame”, or “Pocahontas” will be included. From SoundTrackFest we strongly hope that the programme will include Menken’s masterpieces such as “Little Shop of Horrors” or “Newsies”. We will keep an eye out for more information as it becomes available.
There are still some last-minute tickets left, which can be obtained at the following links:
