SILENT FILMS LIVE 2 – A 3rd concert is announced after selling out the first two concerts

Silent Films Live 2 is a live-to-picture benefit concert series with proceeds to Education Through Music – Los Angeles, that brings together highly-acclaimed film, television, and visual media composers, to reimagine and create new scores for classic silent films.

Performed by the Trojan Chamber Orchestra and conducted by Angel Velez, on May 3rd and 4th, three concerts will premiere the new music specifically created for silent films by composers Nathan Barr, Sean Callery, Fil Eisler, Blake Neely, William Ross, Arturo Sandoval and Lisbeth Scott (composers in attendance on the concerts). The shows will also include a live-to-picture performance of Elmer Bernstein‘s ‘Toccata for Toy Trains’ with new orchestration by Emilie Bernstein.

Adding to the silent film era theme, the event will take place at Bandrika Studios, a space custom-built to showcase Hollywood’s original 1,500 pipe Wurlitzer organ. The pipe organ dates back to 1928 when it resided on the Fox lot and was used in classic scores including ‘Journey to the Center of the Earth’ and ‘Patton’.
