World Soundtrack Awards 2019 – Lifetime Achievement Award for Krzysztof Penderecki

World Soundtrack Awards will honor Polish composer Krzysztof Penderecki with the Lifetime Achievement Award at the 19th edition, which will be celebrated 17-18 October 2019 in Ghent (Belgium).

Krzysztof Penderecki has been composing music for more than half a century. Even though Penderecki’s work is considered difficult to perform and sometimes too “out of the box”, it has gained the sensibility of a vast international public over the years. He has worked with world-famous directors such as Stanley Kubrick, Martin Scorsese, David Lynch, and William Friedkin, many of whom still rely on his work.

Krzysztof Penderecki will receive this award during the World Soundtrack Awards Gala night, on Friday 18th of October 2019 at the Capitole Ghent theatre in a concert dedicated to Marco Beltrami, performed by the Brussels Philharmonic conducted by Dirk Brossé, which will also have the music and the presence of Krzysztof Penderecki.
