‘The World of Hans Zimmer – A Symphonic Celebration’ tour in 2018 and 2019
The tour ‘The World of Hans Zimmer – A Symphonic Celebration’ starting at the end of April 2018 and continuing during 2019, will visit many countries in Europe such as Germany, Switzerland, Spain, France, Czech Republic, UK, Portugal, or the Netherlands, presenting the best of Hans Zimmer‘s music.
Hans Zimmer is the curator and musical director of the show, and although he isn’t performing himself, he has invited several renowned soloists from his talent factory and circle of friends to take part in the tour.
Organized by Semmel Concerts, Tomek Productions & RCI Global, LLC., with the people who are behind the prestigious ‘Hollywood in Vienna’ festival, this tour will feature Gavin Greenaway as musical director, who will also conduct the Symphony Orchestra of the Bolshoi Theatre of Belarus and the Belarusian Television and Radio Choir.
Gavin Greenaway has worked on more than 90 films for Hans Zimmer, James Newton Howard, and John Powell for the past 25 years, being the principal conductor of Hans Zimmer‘s soundtracks in the recording sessions.
The show will include the participation of Australian composer and singer Lisa Gerrard who has collaborated with Zimmer on Gladiator, Mission Impossible, King Arthur, Black Hawk Down and Tears of the Sun among others. In addition, it has been confirmed that the part of the 2019 autumn tour, which starts on 3/11, will have the participation of cellist Tina Guo, a regular collaborator of Hans Zimmer.
This new production, ‘The World of Hans Zimmer – A Symphonic Celebration’ will present Zimmer’s compositions for large orchestra in contrast to what has been seen on ‘Hans Zimmer Live’, so it’s going to be a completely new and different audio-visual concert experience.
