In 2020, Dirk Brossé, born in Ghent, celebrated his 60th birthday and 40 years of career – a life dedicated to music!
At that moment, the Brussels Philharmonic recorded a CD with Dirk Brossé, ‘From Philly to Utopia’, featuring a selection of his recent symphonic compositions. Each and every one of them has a special place in Dirk’s heart – so together they form the ideal set list for these concerts.
From Beethoven to the American painter Thomas Moran, to Sweden’s top DJ Avicii, who died too young. From bustling Philadelphia to the sensitive world of a children’s hospital, this program reflects the broad musical inspiration and deep commitment of an internationally renowned composer and conductor.
The program will be as follows:
- Dirk Brossé – Philadelphia Overture
- Dirk Brossé – Sophia (symphonic poem for violin and orchestra)
- Dirk Brossé – Grand Canyon of the Colorado River
- Dirk Brossé – To the Unknown Soldier
- Dirk Brossé – Für Elise @ the Movies (selection – parts 1, 2, 3, 5, 7, 9)
- Dirk Brossé – The Pulse of Joy
