Over his many years as faculty on the USC Screen Scoring program, Christopher Young has broken down genre films into eleven essential dramatic categories, each with their own musical solutions.

In a masterclass organized by ASMAC (American Society of Music Arrangers and Composers) this Saturday 11th of November at Northridge (California), Christopher Young will discuss in detail those solutions and will examine the importance of immediately memorable melodies, using them to tie together a score through theme and variation.

The masterclass will be moderated by composer, arranger and pianist Sylvester Rivers.
