Documentary about Bingen Mendizabal – ‘Bidean Jarraituz’ – Theatrical release
The documentary ‘Bidean Jarraituz (Siguiendo en el camino/Continuing on the road)’, dedicated to the life and work of the composer Bingen Mendizabal, which has been directed by the filmmaker Aitor López de Aberásturi, will be released tomorrow in cinemas in Vitoria and Bilbao, and next week in Donostia-San Sebastián.
From SoundTrackFest we had already brought you information about the beginnings of this interesting and promising project. Now, and after a long period of gestation, which had its turning point in the crowdfunding that took place in 2017, we can finally see the fruits of the laborious process of making the documentary, directed by Aitor López de Aberásturi and written and produced by Aitor López de Aberásturi and Ainhoa Urgoitia.

Aitor López de Aberásturi is an experienced filmmaker, and in addition to the biographical documentary ‘Bidean Jarraituz (Continuing on the road)’, he is responsible for the documentary about ‘Baby’ the multi-award winning film directed by Juanma Bajo Ulloa, with music created by Bingen Mendizabal and Koldo Uriarte, which has also received countless nominations and awards.

And finally, Aitor López de Aberásturi is also responsible for the ‘Making Of’ of “Irati”, a film by director Paul Urkijo Alijo, which will be released on February 24 in theaters. The film has received very satisfactory reviews, in addition to being nominated this year to the 37th Goya Awards for its soundtrack, composed by Aranzazu Calleja and Maite Arroitajauregi, and also for best song, among other categories.
