Hollywood Bowl – Summer Season 2021

After a cancelled 2020 season due to the coronavirus pandemic (read more), the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles comes as strong as usual with a Summer Season 2021 full of concerts, including several film music related events.

We recently told you about the three film music concerts entitled ‘John Williams – Maestro of the Movies’ to be celebrated the first weekend of September, and now here you can read more details about the rest of the events:

31/7/2021 – Sat – 20:00h – The Princess Bride in Concert [WORLD PREMIERE]. The Los Angeles Philharmonic conducted by David Newman, will perform a brand new orchestral arrangement of composer Mark Knopfler’s score live-to-picture in a world premiere! Introduced by the director of the movie, Rob Reiner.



21/8/2021 – Sat – 19:30h – Sing-A-Long Sound of Music. More information to be available soon.



3,4,5/9/2021 – Fri, Sat, Sun – 20:00h, 20:00h, 19:30h – John Williams – Maestro of the Movies. The traditional annual ‘Maestro of the Movies’ concerts performed by the Los Angeles Philharmonic conducted by John Williams and David Newman.



10,11,12/9/2021 – Fri, Sat, Sun – 20:00h, 20:00h, 19:30h – Black Panther in Concert [WORLD PREMIERE]. For the first time anywhere the LA Phil conducted by Thomas Wilkins, will perform Ludwig Göransson’s Oscar-winning score live to picture. The concerts will have the participation of the singer Baaba Maal.





17/9/2021 – Fri – 19:30h – Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince In Concert. Performed by the Hollywood Bowl Orchestra conducted by Justin Freer.



Tickets for the concerts will go on sale on May 27 in packages, and June 1 individually. Hollywood Bowl subscribers can already purchase tickets at this moment.
