Krakow FMF 2022 – Young Talent Award – Competition Open

The Festiwal Muzyki Filmowej w Krakowie – Krakow Film Music Festival has opened the 10th edition of the Young Talent Award competition.

Krakow FMF 2022 - Young Talent Award - Competition Open

The main goal of the competition is to select young gifted composers (under the age of 35) and present their work to a wide audience, as well as representatives of the film industry. Its previous editions brought together more than seven hundred composers from around the world. The main prize winners are currently active in the international film music market.

This year the contestants will be challenged with a Polish Netflix production – their task will be to create a composition for an excerpt from the film Operation Hyacinth.

The works are going to be assessed by the international jury, consisting of names such as Richard Bellis, John Powell, and Wojtek Urbański – the composer of the Operation Hyacinth’s original soundtrack.

The festival will receive submissions of proprietary music for the film until 20th April, and on 25th May the winning cue will receive a statuette and will be heard during the Scoring4Polish Directors: Jerzy Skolimowski concert at the ICE Kraków Congress Centre (read more). Participation in the contest is free of charge.
