UPDATE: 27/12/2018 – Ennio Morricone will conduct his final concerts in June 2019 in Rome (read news).
According to information published in a press release on the concert that Ennio Morricone will offer on 28th of September at 3Arena in Dublin (Ireland), with tickets that have just been released this week, the composer is considering retiring from international touring, once finished this year’s concerts, since in 2018 he will turn 90 years old, age more than enough to limit trips abroad and tours.
In the press release of the 3Arena venue, available in the following link (follow link), the concert is presented as “Ennio Morricone announces his last ever Irish concert / The Maestro retires from international touring – farewell to Ireland” explaining that “World famous Italian film composer Ennio Morricone announced today that he will perform a farewell concert at Dublin’s 3Arena on Saturday 23 September”.
According to Ennio Morricone’s declarations:
“I have been moved by the passion for my music and the appreciation shown by Irish audiences on previous visits. I must play one final show in Dublin before I retire. I expect this to be an emotional and very special evening for all”.
Therefore, it seems that this 2017 could be the last opportunity to enjoy Ennrio Morricone conducting his music in front of an orchestra.
