Prestigious record label Varèse Sarabande has just announced that this November 2018 will celebrate their 40th anniversary with two special concerts to be held in Glasgow and in Edinburgh (Scotland, UK).
Those concerts, named ‘Varèse Sarabande 40th Anniversary Concert’, will be performed by the Royal Scottish National Orchestra (RSNO) conducted by Spanish composer and orchestra director Diego Navarro, and will have the participation of the RSNO Chorus, the flutist Sara Andon, and will be presented by producer Robert Townson.
The event will have many guest composers, with a full list to be confirmed yet, which includes the legendary Patrick Doyle and Rachel Portman, in a red carpet gala celebration of the 40th anniversary.
The program will have tributes to the music of Jerry Goldsmith (Alien), Elmer Bernstein (To Kill a Mockingbird) and Alex North (Spartacus), plus blockbuster television themes (Game of Thrones) and movies (The Goonies, Back to the Future, The Matrix, The Abyss, The Iron Giant, Terminator 2, The Last of The Mohicans and Stargate).
Tickets for these two concerts, included in the RSNO 2018-2019 concert season, are only available for subscribers at the moment, and there’s no individual ticket sales date confirmed yet. Links to the tickets pages:
In the words of Robert Townson: “This is going to be a film music concert for the history books! Do not miss this!”, and we can certainly agree!
