Hollywood Music In Media Awards 2017
On Thursday, November 16, the 8th edition of the Hollywood Music In Media Awards will be held at the Avalon Hollywood in Los Angeles.
These awards aim to honor the musical excellence in the visual media (film, television, video games, advertising ….) both for major artists and emerging artists from around the world, and it is considered that the results obtained are usually good predictions for the categories of best song and best soundtrack in the Golden Globes and in the Oscars.
The celebration, which will begin at 5 pm, will have a reception on the red carpet of the nominees, then a banquet dinner, and then the awards ceremony at 8 pm, and the tickets prices vary from $ 75 to $ 350 (depending on the type of seat and if you choose only awards ceremony or dinner plus ceremony – tickets link)
The list of nominees is huge, with 29 categories in the Music in Visual Media section, with names such as Carter Burwell, Dario Marianelli, Nicholas Britell, Thomas Newman, Alexandre Desplat, Hans Zimmer, Benjamin Wallfisch, Marco Beltrami, Clint Mansell, Rupert Gregson-Williams, Michael Giacchino, Jeff Beal, Alan Menken, Mac Quayle, Austin Wintory, Bruce Broughton or Chris Lennertz among others.
But let’s highlight nominations to Spanish composers: Iván Ruiz Serrano (Original Song – Independent Film), Javier Rodríguez Ríos (Song/Score – Trailer), Ivan Capillas (Original Score – Short Film – Foreign Language), Josue Vergara (Original Score – Short Film – Foreign Language), Arturo Cardelús (Original Score – Short Film – Animated) and Vanessa Garde (Special Feature – Honorable Mention).
