Even with how complicated the end of 2020 is turning out to be, the Spanish Cinema Academy Foundation and the RTVE Symphony Orchestra and Choir, in collaboration with Musimagen and under the artistic direction of the composer Luis Ivars, have organized a special concert/gala on Friday, December 11, at 19:30h at the Teatro Monumental in Madrid, in support of Spanish film music and live cultural events.
The event, entitled ‘Concierto Gala Música de Cine Español / Spanish Film Music Gala Concert’, will have the RTVE Symphony Orchestra and Choir conducted by Ignacio García-Vidal, offering a selection of soundtracks from the Spanish cinema, having most of the composers in the program as special guests (and in some cases, they will even participate in the concert).
The program will be as follows:
The concert, which will be hosted by the journalist Elena Sánchez and will last 75 minutes without a break, will have the special participation of Ksenija Sidorova on the accordion.
Due to the current health situation, the capacity of the Teatro Monumental has been limited to 400 seats, a small number of which are on sale to the general public, for the amount of 26 €:
For all those who cannot attend the concert, it is good news to know that it will be broadcast live on Radio Clásica (RNE) radio and later on 25/12, Christmas Day, on La 2 de TVE, as well as being available on the website ‘A La Carta de RTVE’.
