Projection of movies with a live musical prelude.

The musical introduction will be provided by Les Caprices de Marianne who will play arrangements by Jean-Michel Bernard of film music by John Williams and Jerry Goldsmith in front of the screen, before the screening of each film.

10/3/2022 – “THE FILM MUSIC OF JERRY GOLDSMITH” BY OLIVIER DESBROSSES

Basic Instinct, Planet of the Apes, Alien, Mulan, Chinatown, Total Recall, The Omen… One man links all these great films: the musician Jerry Goldsmith, who composed the soundtracks.

 

As part of the “Ciné-Notes” festival and in partnership with the Librairie Mollat, film music specialist Olivier Desbrosses (author-host of the Total Trax posdcast – editor for the Underscores.fr website) will come and present, in pictures and music, the work of this immense composer.

17 & 18/3/2022 – MONSTERS & CREATURES – SYMPHONIC CONCERT

Beast, mutant fly, shark, alien, vampire, tyrannosaurus, gremlin, ghost… haunt this concert in homage to the great pages of fantasy and science-fiction cinema. Famous scores by John Williams, Philippe Sarde, Howard Shore, Georges Auric, Jerry Goldsmith and others will revive in everyone’s mind the unforgettable scenes of the big screen. Directed by Spanish conductor and composer Diego Navarro, a specialist in the film repertoire, this concert celebrates film music and shares it – exceptionally! – live, with the irreplaceable sound of a symphony orchestra: the Orchestre National Bordeaux Aquitaine – ONBA.

Jean-Michel Bernard, composer of Michel Gondry‘s film’s music, arranger for Ennio Morricone, stage companion of Lalo Schifrin, arranges Jerry Goldsmith‘s greatest themes (Alien, Star Trek, Chinatown, Gremlins…) for jazz sextet. This concert will mark the release of the album “The Singular World of Jerry Goldsmith as seen by Jean-Michel Bernard” by Cristal Records (read more).
