‘Arena Festival: Film & Music’ in Poland this weekend
The first edition of the “Arena Festival: Film & Music“, which is being held in Ostroda (Poland) from Friday 30th of June till Sunday 2nd of July, includes in its program 3 concerts dedicated to different genres within the world of Soundtracks, as well as various encounters with composers.
Yesterday, Friday, June 30 at 7:00 p.m. a concert named FAIRY TALES was dedicated to animated films and series, with music from The Lion King, Beauty and the Beast, The Little Mermaid, Pocahontas, Aladdin, Snow White, Gwiazda Kopernika-Copernicus Star (Abel Korzeniowski), and Polish animation series from the 60s and 70s such as Bolek i Lolek, Zaczarowany Ołówek, Miś Uszatek, Porwanie Baltazara Gąbki & Reksio.
Today Saturday, July 1 at 7:00 p.m. a concert named SERIES will be held, dedicated to the music of the films Vabank, Vabank II – Czyli Riposta and Sex Mission by Henryk Kuzniak and the music of the films and series Kryminalni, Dlaczego nie Why not, Tylko mnie kochaj (Just love me), Nigdy w życiu (Never in my life) by Maciej Zieliński.
And to finish the festival, tomorrow Sunday July 2 at 7:00 p.m. the concert titled MOVIES will be held, with music from Love Story, Breakfast at Tiffany’s, The Godfather, Star Wars, Chariots of Fire, The Mission, The Last of the Mohicans, Raiders of the Lost Ark, The Lion King, Forrest Gump, Titanic, Origin and the Polish films Knife in the Water (Krzysztof Komeda), Vabank (Henryk Kuzniak), Bandyta – Bandit (Michal Lorenc), Pan Tadeusz (Wojciech Kilar) and Czas Honoru (Bartosz Chajdecki).
The three concerts are being held in the exhibition hall of the EXPO Mazury in Ostroda, and will be performed by the Orkiestra Symfoniczna Filharmonii Warmińsko-Mazurskiej conducted by Piotr Sułkowski.
