Cinematic, Kyle Eastwood at the 35th Malaga Jazz Festival

Musician and composer Kyle Eastwood will offer his concert ‘Cinematic’ on November 7, within the 35th Malaga Jazz Festival to be held at the Teatro Cervantes from November 4 to 10.

The concert, which was cancelled last year due to restrictions imposed by the COVID-19 pandemic, arrives in Malaga as part of its European tour, continuing its concerts in Spain in Madrid on November 8, within the Festival Villanos del Jazz.

 

In Cinematic, Eastwood presents the songs from his homonymous album, where he reinterprets in jazz style well-known soundtracks such as Gran Torino, Unforgiven, Pink Panther, or Taxi Driver. Besides, the composer will receive in Malaga the MalagaJazz 2020 Award for his musical career.

 

Kyle Eastwood is one of the best contemporary jazz bassists and he has composed some of the soundtracks for films directed by his father, Clint Eastwood, such as Gran Torino, Invictus, or Letters from Iwo Jima. In addition, he has participated as a performer and arranger in other compositions of his films, including Mystic River, Million Dollar Baby or Flags of Our Parents.

 

The band consists of Kyle Eastwood double bass and electric bass, Andrew McCormack piano, Chris Higginbottom drums, Quentin Collins trumpet and clarinet, Brandon Allen saxophone.
