Grand Scores Awards 4th Edition – Winners

As we informed in the following news (read article), yesterday, Thursday at night, the ceremony of the 4th edition of the Grand Scores Awards was celebrated in Berlin, where Spanish composers Federico Jusid and Victor Reyes opted to the awards in two of the four available categories.

 

The ceremony, attended by a total of 250 guests, had the German Film Orchestra Babelsberg, composed of 60 musicians, performing a medley of music from classic films as well as the interpretation of the theme “Writings on the Wall” (James Bond) together with singer Marzenka Nowinski.

 

This is the list of winners in the four existing categories:

Best Orchestral Score (ex aequo)

Gaute Storaas for “En Man Som Heter Ove” (A Man Called Ove)

Clint Mansell for “High Rise”

 

Best Electro-Acoustic Score

Sophia Ersson for “Pojkarna” (Girls Lost)

 

Best Original Music for a Series

Victor Reyes for “The Night Manager”

 

Outstanding Contribution

Lalo Schifrin (got the award in his name composer Dennis Dreith)

Grand Scores Awards 2017 - Winners

 

The international jury, which has been composed by Patrick Doyle (United Kingdom), Ludovic Bource (France), Frans Bak (Denmark) & Fernando Velázquez (Spain), decided that due to the great quality of the works and their unique qualities, two had to be chosen in the category of Best Orchestral Score.
