John Williams – The Tanglewood 90th Birthday Celebration

On August 20, 2022, Tanglewood celebrates the 90th birthday of one of its most beloved figures, John Williams, in a special program featuring a selection of his incomparable concert music composed for the Boston Symphony Orchestra and Boston Pops, along with beloved film themes.

Audiences will join the Boston Symphony Orchestra conducted by Ken-David Masur and an all-star lineup of exceptional guest artists, as they salute this inimitable musical icon in an evening of brilliant music and special surprises.

 

The confirmed list of guest artists, at this moment, includes the following names: Martin Grubinger (percussion), J. William Hudgins (percussion), Yo-Yo Ma (cello), Branford Marsalis (saxophone), James Taylor (vocalist), Eric Revis (bass), and Jessica Zhou (harp).

The concert will be celebrated at the venue Koussevitzky Music Shed in Tanglewood (Lenox, MA, USA), on Aug 20, 2022, 8:00pm EDT. Tickets will be available on Mar 10, 2022 at 10:00am EST. Sold Out.
