IFMCA Awards 14th edition – Nominees

Last Thursday, February 8th, nominations for the 14th edition of the IFMCA Awards (International Film Music Critics Association) were presented.

 

IFMCA, founded in 1990 by Mikael Carlsson, is an association of online, print and radio journalists who specialize in writing about original film and television music, which has grown to comprise over 65 members from countries all over the world.

The most nominated composers on this edition are Alexandre Desplat and Daniel Pemberton with four nominations each, Michael Giacchino with five nominations, and John Williams with six nominations for his new works, plus an additional three nominations for archival re-releases of some of his classic scores. And if we talk about the Spanish presence, we can see Pascal Gaigne, Federico Jusid, Alejandro Vivas, David García Díaz and the label Quartet Records owned by José María Benítez among the nominations.
