The Power to the People! festival (Mar 5-Apr 11, 2020), curated by Herbie Hancock and held at the Walt Disney Concert Hall in Los Angeles, celebrates the role artists have played and continue to play in advancing social change, civil rights, and humanitarian causes. There, musicians of every genre will help us to see the world as it is and imagine the world as it could be: bringing injustices to light and inspiring people to act.

Included in the festival, a special film music concert titled ‘The Movie Music of Spike Lee & Terence Blanchard’ will be celebrated on Saturday, March 14th, showcasing the long and fruitful collaboration between the uncompromising filmmaker and the brilliant trumpeter and bandleader, whose lush scores augment the humanitarian spirit and political heart of Lee’s movies.

The music will come to life at the hands of Terence Blanchard and the E-Collective band, together with special guest vocalists Anthony Hamilton, Ben Harper & Valerie June, and the Los Angeles Philharmonic conducted by Damon Gupton.
