SoundTrack_Cologne festival, that will celebrate this year its 16th edition from August 28th to 31st, 2019 in Cologne (Germany), will offer a special video game scoring masterclass with composers Jeff Rona (God of War III, Devil May Cry 5) and Helge Borgarts (The Surge 2).
This full-day masterclass, to be held on Saturday, August 31, 2019, from 9:00h till 18:00h at the Fritz Thyssen Stiftung (Helmut Coing Saal), is aimed at beginners as well as experienced composers who want to learn different composing techniques for video games. Participants will expand their skills to compose emotional and effective interactive music for different genres and styles.
After registering, participants will receive a short sequence or gameplay situation from a game to which they have to compose music with the help of detailed producer’s notes in the run-up to the masterclass.
In order to work on their music on site at Soundtrack_Cologne and implement the prepared music as a test in an interactive audio engine, the participants will have to bring along their own mobile music rigs.
The Jeff Rona Masterclass is limited to 12 active participants, selected in order of registration, with a price of 175 €. In addition to the active participation, the masterclass will also allow the opportunity to attend as an observer, limited to 3 participants, selected in order of registration, with a price of 85 €.
