Among the more than 50 professional speakers of this edition, we can find names such as: songwriter Ray Parker Jr. (composer of the GHOSTBUSTERS theme song, who will present the documentary “Who You Gonna Call?” about his life), director Rolf Lyssy (Zurich Film Festival «Career Achievement Award» winner), Oscar-winning composer Stephen Warbeck, and composers John Gürtler, Dascha Dauenhauer, Olivia Pedroli, Tina Pepper, Matteo Pagamici, Jan Miserre, and Marco Biscarini just to mention a few.

COMPOSING FOR FILM WITH ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE

Composer Janne Spijkervet will show hands-on how to use the latest artificial intelligence technology when writing music for film, teaching the fundamentals of A.I. and demonstrating its capabilities in creative writing: from sparking new ideas to working out a melody into a full score. For this workshop, participants will use Orb Composer Suite, which assists in the process of using A.I. algorithms.

 

The workshop will take place on Wednesday 30/9/20 from 10:30 – 13:30h and is free for all accredited participants of SoundTrack_Zurich, however, a separate registration is necessary via an online form.

CONCERTS

On Wednesday, 30/9 at 20:45h, the Swiss Post-Industrial heroes “The Young Gods” will perform live to Peter Mettler’s movie PETROPOLIS.

 

On Thursday, 1/10 and Friday, 2/10 at 19:30h, the film music concerts “Drama in Film” will be performed at the Tonhalle Maag by the Tonhalle-Orchester Zürich conducted by Frank Strobel, and moderated by Sandra Studer. The program will include music from movies such as Melancholia, Gone with the Wind, Vertigo, Cinema Paradiso, Dancer in the Dark or Joker.
