Soundtrack_Zurich 2022 - 3rd edition – Program, guests & concert

The conference is organized by Forum Filmmusik, curated by Michael Aust (SoundTrack_Cologne) and organized in cooperation with Tonhalle Zurich ZHdK (Zurich University of Arts) and SoundTrack_Cologne. The primary goal of SoundTrack_Zurich is to present the work of Swiss and European film composers at eye level with their international colleagues.

SoundTrack_Zurich presents important film composers in two parallel strands over two days. In addition, the conference hosts an array of panels, networking sessions, discussion rounds, case studies and workshops that take up current topics concerning today’s film music scene. Another significant element is the networking of film composers with the international guests of the Zurich Film Festival.

Oscar-winning film composer Rachel Portman (Chocolat, The Cider House Rules) also ZFF Career Achievement Award recipient, trumpet player Nils Petter Molvær (European Film Award 2021 Best Score), Fatima Dunn (Swiss Film Award 2022 Best Score), and Zeltia Montes (Spanish Goya Award for Best Score 2022) are only a few of the 60 Speakers at the 3rd edition of SoundTrack_Zurich (STZ).

Next to Composer Talks, SoundTrack Zurich also presents six case studies, putting the lens on creating soundtracks for recently released series and films that stand out for their extraordinary work.

Among them, Netflix’ worldwide hit series and screen adaptation of Neil Gaiman’s graphic novel Sandman (composed by David Buckley), The Good Boss (El buen patrón) with Zeltia Montes (first female composer to win the prestigious Spanish Goya Award for Best Music), police parody Tschugger with the director, co-creator and leading actor David Constantin, producer Sophie Toth, composer Rutger Reinders, sound editor, designer and mixer Gregor Rosenberger and music producer and curator Phuong Boi Nguyen all around the panel table.
