Winners for the 18th edition of the Mestre Mateo Awards

Yesterday, the award ceremony for the 18th edition of the Mestre Mateo Awards 2020 was celebrated at the Palace of the Opera of A Coruña (Spain), where the movie O Que Arde was the winner of the night with 6 awards: best feature film, best director, best photography, best art direction, best sound and best editing. The best original music award went to Elba Fernández & Xavi Font for their work in Hierro.

The Mestre Mateo Awards are given by the Galician Academy of Audiovisual in Spain, which reward the excellence of the audiovisual productions of Galicia. The name of these awards comes from Maestro Mateo, who was the artisan behind most of the Portico de la Gloria of the Santiago de Compostela Cathedral.

Divided into a total of 25 categories, these are the nominees/winners of the musical category:

Best Original Music

  • Elba Fernández, Xavi Font – Hierro (Cap. 1-8)
  • Maika Makovski – Quen a ferro mata
  • Manuel Riveiro – A estiba (Cap. 1-14)
