BCN Film Fest 2022 – ‘Ennio: The Maestro’ – Spanish Premiere

The BCN Film Fest 2022, which will be held at the Verdi Cinemas in Barcelona starting today, Thursday 21 to Friday 29, will host the Spanish premiere of the documentary film ‘Ennio: The Maestro’ directed by Giuseppe Tornatore and focused on the figure of the legendary composer Ennio Morricone.

This film, which we already told you about (read more), is a 150-minute documentary that presents a complete portrait of Morricone; one of the most influential and prolific musicians of the 20th century, winner of two Academy Awards and composer of more than 500 unforgettable film soundtracks.

 

The film tells the story as a lengthy interview with the Maestro conducted by Giuseppe Tornatore, and includes commentary from artists and directors such as Bernardo Bertolucci, Giuliano Montaldo, Marco Bellocchio, Dario Argento, the Taviani brothers, Carlo Verdone, Barry Levinson, Roland Joffé, Oliver Stone, Quentin Tarantino, Bruce Springsteen, Nicola Piovani, Hans Zimmer, and Pat Metheny, with music and archival footage.

 

The BCN Film Fest 2022 will screen the film in its original version in English subtitled in Spanish, with 4 sessions in total: 2 only for press, 1 open to the public, and 1 open to the public with the participation of composer Xavi Capellas, who will make a presentation of the film and Morricone’s work.
