Details of the ‘Family concert’ with Fernando Velazquez and BOS

As it was told in this article (follow link), next Saturday, February 25th at 12:30 p.m., a special concert will be held by the Bilbao Symphony Orchestra (Bilbao Orkestra Sinfonikoa – BOS), conducted by composer Fernando Velázquez.

During the concert, images of some of the films that will be interpreted will be projected, with the script and presentation by Javier Irigoien, who will also act as as narrator and master of ceremonies.

In addition to the music that won this year’s Goya Award (A monster calls), people will enjoy a piece expressly written by Fernando Velázquez for the occasion, named Zinema Musikatuz (which translated from Basque to Spanish means “musicalizing the cinema”),  that will illustrate to kids how music also tells a story.

The planned program is as follows:

  • Elmer Bernstein – The Magnificent Seven
  • Fernando Velázquez – The impossible
  • Fernando Velázquez – A monster calls (winner of the Goya Award this year)
  • Fernando Velázquez – Zip & Zap and the marble gang, Pedagogical Suite
  • Fernando Velázquez – Zip & Zap and the captain’s island, Pedagogical Suite
  • Fernando Velázquez – Zinema musikatuz (world premiere)
