Multiple film music concerts at the festival ‘Musika-Música’ in Bilbao (Spain)
As it is usual in Bilbao (Spain), the first weekend of March, the “Musika:Música” music festival will be held at the Euskalduna Palace, which will begin on Thursday, February 28th and end on Sunday, March 3rd, which under the title “London: New York: 2019”, will be dedicated to those two great cultural centers of music in the nineteenth and twentieth century.
The festival will offer a total of 70 concerts/meetings, distributed over 5 days in the multiple halls of the Euskalduna Palace, with popular prices between 5 € and 12 €, and with names of famous composers such as Barber, Elgar, Britten, Gershwin, Korngold, Bernstein, Copland, Nyman, Herrmann, Glass or Williams in the programs.
If we only talk about film music, the highlights of the festival would be the concerts dedicated to the work of John Williams with the Orquestra Simfònica Camera Musicae under the baton of Tomàs Grau on Saturday the 2nd and the silent film Sherlock Jr. – Buster Keaton with live music by the Trío Arbós also on the same day.
But if we look at the program in detail, we can see that the festival contains more than one concert partially related to film music, so here you have a summary of the events that include interesting pieces in their programs:
