Brasswood Soundtracks 2026 – Film, TV Series, and Video Game Music in Sopot and Gdańsk, Poland

SATURDAY – 12 SEPTEMBER 2026 – OPERA LEŚNA, SOPOT

The first day of the festival will take place on Saturday 12 September at the historic Opera Leśna in Sopot, an open-air venue set within the forest.

 

The programme will be divided between Hollywood Stories, featuring music from major international productions, and Polish Master Shots, devoted to some of the most recognisable titles in Polish film, television and video games.

 

HOLLYWOOD STORIES: IN MY HEAD – A FILM MUSIC TRIBUTE TO DAVID LYNCH

One of the most distinctive concerts at Brasswood Soundtracks will be In My Head – A Film Music Tribute to David Lynch, a production officially authorised by the family of the late American director.

 

The project is led by French composer Olivier Mellano, joined on stage by twelve performers, and takes audiences on a journey through Lynch’s distinctive cinematic universe via titles such as Twin Peaks, Mulholland Drive, Blue Velvet, The Elephant Man and Wild at Heart.

 

Music by Angelo Badalamenti will play a central role in the show, alongside songs and compositions associated with artists such as Nine Inch Nails, Roy Orbison and Chris Isaak.

 

The production also has an unusual feature: its creators have deliberately chosen to preserve the ephemeral nature of the show. There are no recordings, reviews or images of the concert, so In My Head is conceived exclusively as a live experience, destined to disappear when the performance ends.

 

HOLLYWOOD STORIES: STRANGER THINGS – KYLE DIXON & MICHAEL STEIN

The creators behind one of the most recognisable television scores of recent years will come to Sopot with Kyle Dixon & Michael Stein, composers of the original music for Stranger Things and members of the electronic group S U R V I V E.

 

The concert will also be their only performance in Poland, giving audiences the opportunity to hear the creators of the Netflix series’ music performing live.

 

Dixon and Stein’s electronic compositions, characterised by analogue, dark sounds deeply rooted in the aesthetics of the 1980s, have become an essential part of Stranger Things’ identity. Their work received an Emmy Award and earned Grammy nominations.

 

At Brasswood Soundtracks, the duo will present a concert format specially prepared for the occasion, bringing the sonic atmosphere of the Stranger Things universe and the Upside Down to the stage.

 

HOLLYWOOD STORIES: THE ADDAMS FAMILY – REBEL BABEL FILM ORCHESTRA & POLSKA FILHARMONIA KAMERALNA SOPOT

The music of The Addams Family will also have its own place in the Sopot programme. Marc Shaiman’s score will be performed by the Rebel Babel Film Orchestra together with the Polska Filharmonia Kameralna Sopot.

 

For the film, Shaiman created a score that combines orchestral grandeur with dark humour, irony and a distinctive dark atmosphere. A combination that fits perfectly with the peculiar world of the Addams family.

 

The live performance will also allow audiences to appreciate the orchestration and musical storytelling of a score that, even without the images, retains its ability to evoke the film’s cinematic world.

 

POLISH MASTER SHOTS

The second part of Saturday’s programme will be devoted to Polish Master Shots, a section revisiting some of the most recognisable themes in Polish screen music. The programme will bring together music from films, television series and video games performed live by their creators and collaborators, in versions specially adapted to the large concert format.

 

POLISH MASTER SHOTS: 1670 – REBEL BABEL FILM ORCHESTRA & POLSKA FILHARMONIA KAMERALNA SOPOT

The popular Netflix series 1670 will have its own musical presentation at the festival. The score combines elements inspired by early music and Slavic traditions with a contemporary approach that fits the series’ distinctive sense of humour.

 

In Sopot, the Rebel Babel Film Orchestra and the Polska Filharmonia Kameralna Sopot, conducted by Szymon Morus, will perform this music in a concert version that gives 1670 a symphonic dimension.

 

POLISH MASTER SHOTS: THE PEASANTS – ŁUKASZ L.U.C. ROSTKOWSKI & REBEL BABEL FILM ORCHESTRA

One of the highlights of the Polish section will be the music from The Peasants (Chłopi), composed by Łukasz L.U.C. Rostkowski.

 

Inspired by Slavic tradition and folk music, the score became one of the major recent phenomena in Polish film music, eventually being regarded as the most listened-to film score in the country’s cinema history.

 

L.U.C. Rostkowski’s work received major accolades, including a Fryderyk, the Polish Film Awards (Orły), the O!Lśnienia awards from Onet and the MocArts from RMF Classic, as well as achieving platinum status. The music was also part of Poland’s official Oscar submission, while Variety included it among the 15 film scores worldwide with potential for Academy Awards recognition.

 

At Brasswood Soundtracks, L.U.C. Rostkowski will be joined by the Rebel Babel Film Orchestra for a live performance of this distinctive blend of tradition, folklore and film music.

 

POLISH MASTER SHOTS: JANOSIK – REBEL BABEL FILM ORCHESTRA & POLSKA FILHARMONIA KAMERALNA SOPOT

The Polish programme will also revisit the music of Janosik, one of the most recognisable productions in the country’s television history. Its themes, inspired by the music of the Carpathians and the traditions of mountain communities, have been part of Poland’s audiovisual imagination for decades.

 

The Rebel Babel Film Orchestra and the Polska Filharmonia Kameralna Sopot, conducted by Szymon Morus, will offer a new interpretation of these melodies, combining their folk identity with a powerful symphonic sound.

 

POLISH MASTER SHOTS: PERCIVAL – ĆWIERĆ WIEKU MUZYKI

Saturday will conclude with Percival, the Polish group closely associated with the music of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt and the television adaptation of the saga. Under the title Ćwierć wieku muzyki, the group will look back over its musical journey, with particular emphasis on music connected to The Witcher universe.

 

The show will combine Slavic-rooted instruments, vocals, high-energy arrangements and a strong stage production, with scenic elements and dance. The result will be a spectacular performance seeking to bring to the stage the ritualistic, emotional and atmospheric qualities that characterise Percival’s music and its connection with the world created by Andrzej Sapkowski.
